Yes, merchant service fees apply for card acceptance. EFTPOS (CHQ/SAV) is free, while contactless debit is 0.99%, domestic credit 1.85%, international cards 3.90%, and UnionPay 2.00%. Merchant fees are charged by all providers and are a required part of accepting card payments.
Yes, you can add a surcharge to transactions. However, ensure you comply with surcharging guidelines and clearly inform your customers about the surcharge.
